The Maliki government is closely aligned with Iran. Some have speculated as to whether Blackwater was set up. The Ministry of Interior is not the Iraqi government. Rather, it is an entity made up of Iraqi police and the municipal branches. An oftentimes corrupt entity that has seen some of its members work with the insurgents to murder U.S. troops. The Department of State “after action report” makes it very clear that the convoy being protected by Blackwater at the time, was indeed under attack.

Thanks for your interest and support of our troops and
the security forces in Iraq. They are defending our
rights and liberties. Blackwater's experience and
skill is an invaluable asset and they deserve all the
recognition we can give them!

He saw Blackwater in the title, rushed in to join the bashing crew, and was instantly disappointed.

The fact the U.S. is so dependent on mercenaries speaks volumes of how screwed up the situation is in Iraq. And these guys are civilians now, and their doing it for money, not God and Country, or Freedom or Democracy.

Bashing and blaming is the part-time of the
untalented. Creating solutions involve more
investment in energy and thoughtfullness.
