It was big and unwieldly, but - HEY! - it works and doesn't use Microsoft!

I find it a little hard to believe that modern technology can not be made compatible with this. It's a signal for goodness sakes. Certainly someone could figure out how to reverse engineer the hardware.

Of course its all about cost - probably a few dollars to replace tubes and transistors over building an entirely new system.
