Anyhow, it's spirited.
However, as for the "great/average/small minds" stuff, I feel free
(1) to decant that palatable wine by quoting Marcus Tullius Cicero:

"What concerns all, must be discussed by all."

and
(2) to drip some of Nietzsche's absinth into that overestimated beverage:

which means I think, either that is is stupid to confine oneself to mere worldly experience or that it is stupid not to confine oneself to worldly experence, but I think the first is closer to the meaning.

So what did we Q. e. d. ?

Perhaps that we shouldn't take catagories seriously?
Or that aphorisms only go so far?

I don't know any persons with what I am inclined to call a great mind who would not be aware of the shortcomings of their thoughts. Socrates is only one example, Albert Einstein is another:

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Maybe there is a portion of irony in such sayings on that score; but I see it as the great minds' intrinsic self-irony, by which they may be able to bear the woe about the borders of human cognition. Nietzsche's Morgenröte quote is nothing else but an stone-cold expression of that, which, by the way, is the very core of Kant's epistemology.

As for Cicero's quote "What concerns all, must be discussed by all", this is a (politically relevant) posit of practical reason, not of epistemology. There is no contradiction. Both of the excerpts quoted by me, assemble in the modesty (not mediocrity!) of an attitude which is both democratic and noble. And that's just life (or should be).
