Could it just possibly be that they didn't agree with his findings?

NO. It couldn't be that because then I would be wrong. Man, you sure think a lot of yourself.

How about this for Global Warming. It hasn't warmed since 1998. Now, those sagacious prognosticators of all things climatic are saying, "Oh, by the way it probably won't get warmer for the next 15 years or so due to (and this is my fav part, normal climatic cycles.) In fact it might just cool a bit. So 25 years of Global Warming on hold.

And we are supposed to wreck the US economy in order to stop what exactly? Global temperature stasis.

Funny thing thought, the US didn't sign Kyoto and our emission have gone down. Can't say the same about many of the other signatories. Germany, for ex...

A new report by the Army attributes different aspects of the sun’s dynamics to whatever is supposed to be changing the climate, nothing man-made though. I'm not much into doom and gloom, so I have no plans to clip it - http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/06/army-vs-global.html

Kyoto is B.S. designed only to take money and industry from prosperous countries who buy into the climate change farce.

It's kinda funny how the Ice keeps melting all over the planet if it's cooling. How does that work? And if the carbon in the atmosphere has gone from 150 pts/million to 250 pts/million in the last 100 years to unprecedented levels (ice core samples), why is it that somethin is happening that y'all with heads buried in the sand don't get it? Sorry, that last sentence is goofy--but you get my drift...
There's nothin wron with cleaning up the air and ceasin the destruction of the rainforests in the Amazon and Malaysia no matter what. Wait till you see the air over Beijing ewhen you watch the Olympics...*hack, cough*

and BTW--I'm not happy with all this cap-and-trade jazz--but it seems to be the only way to involve capitalists in the effort to reduce emissions--a profit motive! No surprise.

How hot and stinky does a rodents nest become as the population grows. I say randomly kill 4 billion people and your global warming problem will subside. Plus there will be more stuff for the rest of us so we won't need to manufacture as much stuff.
Its bound to happen eventually, either by our own hand or a natural selection.

And if your kids were "randomly" chosen for execution? You're verging on the insane, Skwirl. Sure the Earth may just shrug us of and snuff the whole human race...but then we'll join the thousands of other defunct species. We are such arrogant animals. Massive egos and lost sense of our place in the balance of nature have put us in this position.

The best way to involve capitalists is profit motive. True, that is after all what capitalism is about. Now if we could just shy away from any pejorative meaning of the word capitalist we might be able to discern a bit more truth.

Government regulations and taxes will not spur capitalism/ists to make changes. Tax breaks will. More importantly the market will. Gas prices go up, market demands fuel efficiency and alternative fuels for combustion. Market sweeps in and make the changes. Demand is met. Companies make money and employment stays around 5%. And no one had to pass a new law.

If it were THAT simple, it would be nice. Unfortunately it's not...good try, tho
