Right-wing Hindus have often opposed conversion, pushing some Indian states to restrict legal changes of faith.
Even today, stuff like this amazes me. It is so sad when people need to oppress others just to feel better about themselves.

I read an interesting book (actually it was a series of books) written by Swami Vivekananda once about how "love and affection" left India along with Buddhism. Hopefully embracing Buddhism will brings those ideals back!

The state of Hinduism today is pathetic at best.

I would like to think that state of "religion" is pathetic at best ... that is across the board. No wonder people are fed up and atheism has garnered lots of visibility.

The converts hope to escape the rigid caste system in which their status is the lowest.
I think this is the point
why they converted. They simply chose option which is better for them; I can’t
condemn them.
