I think the points in the book description are somewhat super-ficial. There are many more ways in which these political and social agendas were similar. Not the least of which was the admission from Mussolini that many of his ideas came from W. Wilson and that Roosevelt admitted that he was interested in modeling the USA after the Italian state. Before fascism became incorrectly synonymous with war and racism, it was very much embraced by much of the West and thought to be "the future".
