debbyski says: Best Buy is not being picked on here, it could be them or anyone else. As a regular part of my work I have to trudge through large retail stores all the time and my biggest complaint is the lack of help. If you want us to buy, then have enough informed sales people to help us and get us through the lines quicker! "It's not rocket science. To make customers happy, all you need to do is offer high-quality goods at competitive prices and staff your stores with a sufficient number of well-trained personnel to ensure a smooth shopping experience." Yep it could be and IS all of them. I've been remodeling my house for 4 years, so I spend a lot of time at Home Depot and Lowes. When I don't want a sales person, they are everywhere. When I do want one, they can't be found. In regard to Best Buy..... I bought a big ol TV there a few months ago. I had done a lot of homework, I knew exactly what I wanted and it was down to Sears or Best Buy. I went to Sears and told them when I left I was going to Best Buy. Sears worked really hard to get the price down and give me anything they could (accessories, warranty, etc) to get my biz. At that point they had Best Buy's lowest advertised price beat. I took all the info to Best Buy. They beat Se... @Googleit: I built a brand-new home a few years back and spent a ton of time in Lowes. Believe me, at that time I seemed to get better customer service than now. I hope you are taking advantage of Lowe's QSP discount program Googleit. It usually amounts to 25 percent in mill works, if you spend $2,500 on a project. I had heard about that. Unfortunately Lowes is quite a drive for me. HD is just around the corner. Hell I've spent so much time at HD, the emplotees know me by name and ask me where stuff is sometimes. Luckily I'm down to 1 bathroom. Once it's done, I hope to never step into a home improvement store again. Thats a lie. I will always have some kind of something or other going on. I really like Home Depot because of the better customer service. However, for lumber prices, I don't think you can beat Lowes. You should always go talk to the service manager and ask if any discounts are available at Home Depot, but what I like best about that store are the discount bins. I'm going to try and rebuild my grape harbor with some lumber I had left over, hopefully tomorrow with my vacation time. Today was spent catching up on laundry and housework, omg, I love Dawn direct foam . . . hey debbyski I don't mind paying a bit extra for excellent service, depending upon the product. I simply can't be bothered with lack of service if it is a product that is valuable to me. I did have a major complain to my home phone/isp provider about how they had a fantastic product but the service was horrendous. Other customers also must have said the same thing. They asked me to take a phone survey, which I did and it seems they have actually done something about the service side of things. I have only had to ring them once since so that is all I have to go on. Good for you Celestial My Lowe's has much better service than my Home Depot. (and by "my" I mean the ones close to my house). The last time I went to HD, I could not find a single person to help. However, I will say that Pep Boys (automotive store) almost killed me with a brake job. I told everyone that would listen not to patronize them and now they are out of business so I don't have to. HA! (I'm not saying I had anything to do with them going under). Word of mouth is very powerful. Unhappy customers can really screw things up for a store. One time my friends were eating at a chain restaurant and after complaining about the meal to the manager, the manager proceeded to eat from my friend's plate and declare the food "perfect." That restaurant is also closed now. When the service sucks, people talk. Your friend should have taken that fork and . . . well u get the idea |
