Skwirl, I just read at Yahoo Answers about DixV player Here's the poster's (gary) answer: "Well when it comes to installing the Active X I wouldn't recommend you do so .For which I've done this once and it crashed my beautiful computer (lap Top) It took some doing for professionals to fix the problem. Active X allows viruses and bugs in the computer base which is definitely not safe for your computer by all means. It will take a few days to hit your computer. Well it did mine anyways. Source(s): Maybe I installed it wrong or something but that's what happened to mine, (Viruses,Bugs)" Now, I'm more confused. I avoid ActiveX things. I installed divx from divx. I also have klite codec pack with the media player classic. I also installed the firefox divx plugin. I am having absolutely no problems at all. Try stage 6 and see if you can strean anything from there Something else you could do is check the file associations with your favorite player. See if it has the option to play .flv and .divx files. Check the correct boxes and see if they play. I also have the Veoh player. I use Download helper in firefox to grab movies. They are usually .flv and I have media player classic set to play these by default. |
