Cloudstar says: Article from the Free Software Foundation about how Vista is an attack on computer freedom. I'm using vista now. It sucks it sucks it sucks it sucks really really bad. I'm going back to XP. It used less RAM. The features are pretty much the same. Just more eye candy on Vista, but not at ALL worth the huge amount of RAM and processing power it takes. If you have NASA's supercomputer in your home, only then do I recommend you install Vista. Trust me. I don't intend on switching to Vista until it is required for the games I play. Then it will only be on my gaming machine. When they quit supporting XP (or maybe sooner) I will switch my surfer to Linux. vista is horrible, and theres no room for disagreement there whatsoever. honestly, i have no idea why microsoft would spend 5 years and billions of dollars clogging our systems' resources, destroying our flexibility, and ruining our lives. i went ubuntu. Wow, I'm surprised to see that someone with Finder as his avatar is actually a fellow Ubuntu user. well, im getting a mac before college - i love macs - but in the meantime, i refuse to use windows, so thats how i ended up with ubuntu. To fudzz, The reason why Vista is consuming all the RAM is, because Vista is continually checking your machine (to see what your doing with it) it simply eats up your power. In other words, you are paying the price for Microsoft policing your computer! I think this is outrageous - talk about Big Brother! Thanks for the explanation of why Vista is being such a pain on my computer, Cloudstar. At least now I KNOW what its problem is now. Anyways, today is the day I revert back to XP. Making a startup disk right now. Wish me luck. Also, a lot of people seem to be using ubuntu. Should I try that after XP is installed? I mean, how is ubuntu with games? And with surfing and firefox addons and videomaking etc? Haha, lots of questions, sorry. I think I should find a good help site on this stuff. PS. Anyone know a good moviemaking software? I know of Fraps and Windows Moviemaker but haven't used them much. |
