Why not just grow them in incubators? That would spare women the pain of childbirth. Men who share that pain may agree. My wife nearly bit my hand off during the birth of the first. I still, apparently, skipped out of the hospital. Mind you, the new mum was exhausted and took longer to get over than my hand. Some say parthenogenesis is a response to environmental stress. Genetic variance is of minor importance when a species is struggling to survive, they will take any genes they can get. A large shark in tank recently had young this way and they say the phenomena is on the rise among a lot of different species. It's an "emergency plan", of sorts. Not a good sign regarding the health of the planet. |
