You know the first thought on my mind was to steal these, not buy them. Is that bad?

Strange how Generators and batteries are so high up on the list yet there is no mention of electrical supplies or equipment (save from torches, CO2 detector and solar powered calculator). Surely people will need light bulbs, radios, refrigerators and fuses etc.

Perhaps I should stockpile these so that I can barter with everyone else.

Um...Generators are #1 but FUEL for said generators is not #2? Hello, McFly.

sohil, haha, but that would be categorize in another clip "Top 100 things to appear..." 1.) stealing... : )

I'm surprised batteries are so far down on the list. I guess most stores have pretty big stocks of those.

lembit, good point. probably, under the assumption that there is no relocation.

I don't think the emphasis is on WHERE they rank on the list...as to just being AWARE of the things on the list...cause I'd sure as heck scoot t.p., baby milk and feminine supplies right on up there with fuel, man!

40. Big Dogs
Big dogs eat more + no food = no big dogs
....or.....
No food + big dogs + hungry people = no big dogs?

onlinedesign, that took me a while to add it up. but i finally got it...= no hungry people!

I figured the big dogs were more about protection than anything else.

Yeah, generators without fuel is a no-starter. And fuel is going to go into vehicles (the road warrior.....) so best drop the concept of electrical homes right off, and go back to kerosene lanterns for as long as you have kerosene, and iceboxes if you can find a source of ice.

At some point, you're going to have a root cellar, and then cats are going to be damn handy. The kind that feed themselves.

I also expect birthcontrol devices to be at a premium.

wow maybe we all should stock up on supplies

smart people have most of these things on hand or stocked anyway. The people who think money will save them are the ones who will lose. In times of national emergency, paper money is just toilet paper.

yes and no, it all depends on how an individual wants his or her life to be.

Wow !
That's going to really change the USA way of life eh ?
We won't be able to tell one of you from other people from less affluent nations... Third world and first world drawing closer ???
Up to now the rest of the world has been copying your style of living at great expense... Now we only have to dash up to the attic or down to the cellar to retrieve what we put away and we'll have caught-up with you without too much expense... How considerate of you... of your leaders... What i will miss most is this blog actually... we probably will no longer be able to communicate like this... Well it was ffun while it lasted... hmmm....

suzikoh, ohhh, the clip-fathers would be happy to hear that.

here's what sidegik would do: get a 'power converter' plug it to the cigarette lighter that's in the car and hook up your computer to the 'power converter' then turn-on and log-in : )
