Sadly, the reason this is so funny is that we all have known this boss in our lives.

I had a bunch of those when I worked with EVIL Cha$e (the bank).

One of my co-workers and fellow admins just took a promotion and is now the assistant to my boss's boss. I did the math and the raise works out to about $50 a day more (pre-tax).

As I told BossLady, that's not enough money – not even close – to get me to give up the best manager I've ever worked for and go work for someone who's known to be... "difficult".

Smart non-move! Life is too short.
And isn't it odd that everyone has worked for a boss like that? Why are there so many of them?

Morons in charge are always dangerous. By all means: political, social, psychological or physical.

I've had many jobs in my life, but only two good bosses. Several had the employees downright afraid of them, and saw that as a symbol of their authority.

One of the last places I worked, the manager had me arrange a whole pegboard of merchandise a certain way. This pegboard was huge, the items small and plentiful. She had me re-arrange that thing three times before she came back and said re-do it, I liked the first one best. I hid the last time I saw her coming. When I next saw the pegboard it had been rearranged yet again. She was on such a power trip.

Heh. I had a real doozy of a boss who "let me go" because during a break (not on company time), I dared to poke huge, gaping holes in his complete and utter worship of the Roman Catholic Religion, pointing out how it wasn't even Christianity to begin with.
