dakotayii says: Analyzes with data from 9,000 people across 10 countries uncovered the pattern that, not only do right-wingers report greater life satisfaction across cultures, but the gap widens in those countries where quality of life is low. Finally, the authors looked at U.S. data spanning the past 30 years, and found that increasing economic inequality is associated with the decrease in the nation’s overall happiness. But noted they found that liberals’ self-reported happiness decreased more steeply than that of conservatives. IMO to screw someone is better than to be screwed...........which is not wrong To screw someone is better than to be screwed...? I like this clip but what exactly do you meant by that?? {quote] The authors argue that a conservative belief acts as a psychological buffer in a world of increasing inequality. The idea is that conservatives tend to rationalize inequality as the result of a fair process in a meritocracy, whereas liberals tend to see inequality as inherently unjust. "Conservatives rationalize". They actually rationalize? Yes, of course they are selfish but after thinking? A true capitalist has to be selfish as against the wanta-be capitalist that there must be so that there are plenty of backs so that the real capitalist can climb upon. So thinking and real capitalists don't go in the same sentence as equality, except as here while I explain. So how soo... I would bet the cut-throat pirates of yesteryear were a happy lot too, but I guess we're not talking about right and wrong. This seems way too simplistic. Happiness stems from a lot of factors, and the labels "conservative" and "liberal" are what the respondents reported in the surveys. The labels mean different things to different people. Besides, even if you converted to Republicanism and started believing in social Darwinism, that wouldn't automatically make you happier. Yet that's how simplistic these conclusions are. Greed is one of the simplest forms of motivation. Share holders aren't famous for their conscience. The greedy have become far too powerful. |
