This started out as a "good news" clip...and it is! But is the Washington Post suggesting that *President Obama* can take credit for the withdrawal?

I just finished reading this article and I'm very glad you clipped it. The Washington Post is not giving Obama credit. They're saying his "this war is lost" thinking campaign of doom and defeat is no longer applicable.

alanocu...I agree with your point. However, I was seeing an insinuation that a "President Obama" would "be able to responsibly carry out further pullouts next year." Perhaps I'm reading too much into the words, but there was no indication that a "President McCain" would do the same thing.

The article itself, coming from the W Post, was an admittance that there is much more success in Iraq than has been previously reported. And the mere reporting of that is good news.

The Iraqi upturn is on the horizon - their government is taking back control - terrorists are being defeated.

After years of mainstream media manipulation, , I very happy to read and POP this clip. I'm really glad the Washington Post reported the facts. The media has been extremely quiet lately. I watch the headlines really close - and suspected something was happening....

The fiasco with Obama's minister is something I don't understand and the responses haven't made me feel any better. Twenty years of sitting in a church with a hateful minister only to realize it when the Presidential campaign has started?

I've had a few shady friends in my past that I wouldn't be too proud of others knowing about, but not for 20 years.

His Iraq policy is all about managing the failure - not good in my opinion. I don't like anything that starts with rubber-stamping 'failed' processes.

I'm really disappointed with this election, but I am really happy to live in this country. I love the people here and no matter what the outcome is, my support is 100%.
