earnric says: Scott Ritter makes some astute observations regarding the military and its relationship with the citizens - and the constitution - it is sworn to protect. Actually, real "Bible wielding zealots" would see that it is an unjust war per biblical principles, and would have condemned the wars from the start as contrary to Christian principles and being more like "feet that make haste to shed innocent blood". Neither the Iraqis not Afghans attacked America, or threatened to. The problem is not a Christian problem at all, but one led by Christian-feigning leaders who are hypocrites (grk. actors) in the true sense of the word, for political purposes. There has been a very large increase in Christian dissent among conservatives (traditional, not neoconservatives), about the neocon wars. Unfortunately the loudest Christian group is composed of the bible-thumpers who think America should be a Christian nation... They have the vast majority of the money and are the ones influencing the government. The "quiet Christians" aren't the ones I'm worried about. |
