cementedminds says: This is an issue close to my own heart because I have red hair. Some red hair mythology: Redheads sacrificed in ancient Egypt Associated with witches and vampires in Europe Reputed to bleed more Mary Magdalene, Adam, Judas and even Jesus depicted as redheads Wow, fascinating article. I had no idea that there was a culture of abuse directed against redheads in the UK. I'm from the US, and as the article says, red hair isn't viewed this way in the US. It can be pretty bad. I haven't had any abuse in years (thankfully, most people I know are mature), but school was difficult at times. Yer i agree m8. Im also ginger and over the past 3 years at secondary school iv suffered from being called things like "ginger" "carrot top" etc. ----stages ive been through---- 1) Amusing 2) Less amusing 3) Boring 4) Anger 5) Depression i dont mind if my friends use the term casually but when it is used to make the person look "cool" or "funny" then i would call that bullying. I would call that bullying too, xx9. |
