I absolutely agree with Ferraro. Many Democrats are cheering Palin's selection. I just wonder who McCain will pick to replace her in a month or twos time - I hope they are as "good". I just want to add one more thought - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. And here I didn't think the Democrats had a chance. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Geraldine Ferraro says that many women feel disaffected by the way Hillary Clinton got treated by the Democratic Party and the media — and they will appreciate an opportunity to support a historic ticket:Old wounds heal slow. Hillary supporters are not going to running to embrace Obama or his 'change' That's like saying the republican mainstream hardcore evangelicals are not going to vote for McBush. Why wouldn't they vote for a Baptist who doesn't believe he needs to be baptised? With two years experience in office and a brewing scandal at home she would be a 71 year old's heart beat away from the Presidency all with zero national or international experience. The Democrats could not have asked for a better pick. She was elected as mayor in 1995. Obama was elected to the state senate in 1997. She has more political experience than Obama and most of it is executive experience. She has also shown she is willing to stand up to her own party in order to take down corruption and pork. She even brought down her own pay to cut spending. Obama did have a nice speech in 2002 though. Yes, mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. Now there is a credential for president if I ever saw one. Hypocrite. Let's see, Mayor vs State senator. I don't think either of those qualifies you to be president, but if I had to go with one I would say Mayor since it is at least executive experience. The Democrats could not have asked for a better pick. One thing for sure, we will know if it was a good choice in a couple of months. I'm not sure if you're trying to convince us or yourselves over Palin. Whatever. I'll be watching with bemusement. I love it, mayor of small Alaskan town a basis for being president. We are constantly reminded that, particularly for the far right, cognitive dissonance truly is painful. kmcolo, speaking of cognitive dissonance, I've had the pleasure today of hearing conservative women defend working mothers. Brilliant. How pitiful. Conservative women ARE working mothers. I always like Ferraro. She seemed intelligent, prepared, deep...however, I would never have voted for her because her value-system was not mine. Most women DO have a brain and vote for those who most represent them...which ever way that might be. POP for clip, BR calling McCain "McBush" ( like some sort of Che Guevara t-shirt wearing, non toilet paper using 18 year old), and kmcolo's usual hilarity. I love it, mayor of small Alaskan town a basis for being president. You are delusional. How about governor of Alaska as a basis for being vice president? At least, much more qualified than a first term senator who has never written a bill. At least, much more qualified than a first term senator who has never written a bill.Or the voting record of one who shows as 'present' more often than not. Talk about accomplishing nothing. |
