alanocu says: Quoted from the page: "Tests have shows that when subjects are exposed to bright red, blood pressure increases and the heartbeat speeds up. (Exposure to green causes a drop in blood pressure; the same is true of dark blue.) . . . This is largely explainable in perfectly ordinary terms.Green soothes us because it is the color of nature. . . " Interesting. Teachers are noted for marking errors on exams and papers with a red pen--just seeing the red ink is enough to raise a student's blood pressure! Each red mark is blood from a wound, a puncture in a student's self-esteem. Red is also said to increase appetite, which is why it is often used in the decor of restaurants, grocery stores and in food packaging. When I had iguanas they were very stimulated by the color red and especially loved strawberries, picking them out of the greens they were mixed in. Likewise, our chickens really go for red foods such as tomatoes and strawberries. I do, too! Personally, red is one of my best colors to wear (I'm a "Winter") and has always be... ginge that is really interesting - red is one of my favorite colors on women; I had never heard that about restaurants, but thinking back, I've seen that color often. I hated seeing those red marks on exams - it is sort of like a puncture as you turn each page and see all the red marks! I have whopping ADHD, and I have noticed that it is easier for me, when preaching, if my notes are on blue paper. Probably has something to do with how ADHD makes your mind jump and jump and jump (whoops, I wrote hump instead of jump - that probably wouldn't help my preaching), and the blue quiets it down. Great clip! Great clip!Very interesting comment, gingembre.Although red is my favorite color,I hated red marks. I did a clip awhile ago on color therapy that explored a similar line of reasoning. Nice to see this subject surface again. Good Clip I love the red in the photo, and being Aries, red really works for me. This is interesting. Probably why my middle school and high school rooms had mostly blue walls. However, the college ones are sort salmon-pink... I'm not sure the sports teams in red always win. I mean, look at the KC Chiefs. |
