If this house or the concept is of any interest to you, I would highly recommend getting a copy of a great book that shows the details of planning, design and building called, "Building a Low Impact Roundhouse" by Tony Wrench.
I just got my copy a few days ago and can't seem to put it down.

While I agree it has 100% WOW factor, I wonder if it feels cold. And I wonder if everybody dug their homes out like this, what the impact would really be to the landscape.

      gives us a unique opportunity to live close to nature. Being your own (have 
      a go) architect is a lot of fun and allows you to create and enjoy something

      box designed for maximum profit and convenience of the construction industry. 
      Building from natural materials does away with producers profits and the
