At the top is the Piagnaro castle, which houses an entire population of stone people waiting to reveal to you - pilgrims of the 21<SUP>st</SUP> century - the mysteries of society 5000 years ago. These statues are called the Stele, human images carved by the first inhabitants of Lunigiana on stone from the Apuane Alps.
