Every year, Americans throw away some 100 billion plastic bags after they've been used to transport a prescription home from the drugstore or a quart of milk from the grocery store. It's equivalent to dumping nearly 12 million barrels of oil.

I'll stick with my reusable, biodegradable canvas bags, thanks.

Thank, Dulios. Now I do not feel so guilty asking them to double-bag.

can't pick up dog poop with a canvas bag. Long live plastic bags. And I always ask for double bags.

I just commented on a clip from the same before I saw this one:
Hehe...this reminds me of when I was recently buying some books at a used bookstore. The older guy ringing me up asked if I wanted some Middle Eastern processed petroleum (or something to that effect), meaning would I like a bag? He looked so disappointed that I said yes. What a tool.

We used to call plastic bags our national flower because wherever you looked there was one fluttering in the breeze. Now that we are forced to pay for plastic bags, they are collected and saved rather than discarded. Damned good idea that was.

I don't need to deal with any more trash in my life. If I can carry it in my hands, I just skip the bag altogether.

I prefer paper in plastic. Then, when I shop, I bring my bags with me (usually around four to five bags per trip) and reuse them. They have lasted about a year so far, and the supermarket give a 5-6 cent credit per bag.
