God, these are depressing. It is, isn't it? Shouldn't be happening. "The reactions to the suicide were that she was having a difficult time separating her personal feelings from her professional duties". I think that would be called morals. I was speaking with a friend a few months ago about this type of thing, wondering how many soldiers actually took their lives over there, not wanting to be the person that their "duties" required them to be. This young woman was a church goer and obviously preferred to be dead rather than do what was demanded of her. I feel for her friends and family and the others like her who are still suffering. Peace........................ When I joined, in basic training we were told we were not obligated to perform unlawful or immoral commands...it bothers me to see that her personal and professional views were lumped together like this, as if professionalism has nothing at all to do with immorality or unlawful commands. Sad state of affairs all round I reckon. "Whatever Happen to Peace on Earth" (new song by Willie Nelson and Friends) — and the other one that says "Thou shall not kill" (wantonly)... period! Such a damn waste and exploitation of human life... pity, and shame on all of us... collectively. Here is a link to the Willie Nelson song: http://loadedmouth.com/node/4171 — if you're interested... This only is happening because the US government is an EVIL institution, and it expects those that work for it (ie the US soldiers, as well as CIA etc) to act in an Evil way too. If they can't act Evil, they become no good to it, so they dont care what happens to them. If they commit suicide or whatever. They only care about pursueing thier own evil objectives, for the sake of the national interests of the US. How sad ! |
