Our cities have share gardens which people without room can grow a few veges, meet a few like minded people ( often immigrants are involved) so there is a good social structure. The gardens are on crown land in places such as beside railway lines, so they beautify and have low costs to participants. People flock there at times when a few extra veges are being sold to cover costs. Water restrictions, due to the drought, are the main problem. |
