As millions of farmers work hard to get billions of birds and pigs ready for the Lunar New Year in 2008 market, they begin the annual lottery wheel yet again for bird flu making a more effective jump to being a pandemic or simply creating a new variant of the old flu that resembles the 1918 version.

If the current methods have not controlled repeated outbreaks of bird flu over the last five years, then it's time to try new methods - right?
