Question:
If the current President and Vice-President ARE impeached, then what? Who's on first?

Answer: Nobody

There is a line of succession beyond those two. That would be...drum roll please....Nancy Pelosi. Of course a lot of work would go into this, investigations by a Special Counsel and Congress (investigations the White House is blocking) and if crimes are found out, and the statutory limits have not passed, they can certainly be prosecuted post-office. Thats why the investigations are important, to get to the bottom of all this and thats why Cheney/Bush are fighting them tooth and nail.

Of course, if the Cheney goes, this WH looses all of its power and then these dudes can be properly taken care off post 2009.

The White House already has lost its power. Republican reps are abandoning the sinking ship. Iraq is getting worse and those so called politicians cant even come up with 1 benchmark. And General Petraeus Is now saying we could be there for a century.
So skwirlinator Napster , Are you two going to enlist to help win the war for Bush. I doubt that.

I already did my service to my country years ago, thanks.

2 days after I was married I was deployed. (I got pretty lucky, it was only 6 months) I knew it was a possibility when I raised my right hand and took the oath as well, so no big deal. You raise your hand, you play in the sand- that's how it goes.

I have done more for my country than I can say for alot of folks here. (vets not withstanding) My 'job' was to safely route air traffic every day and night to wherever it needed to go. I probably routed your realtives.

Not all of us 'serving' were front line, but combat support roles.

Nappy, I don't mean this in a negative way, but it sounds like cptenaud had front line combat.

If he was in the Marines (like my brother and nephew are) or the Army (like my Brother in law) then, yes, front line was always a distinct possibility. I was smart enough to join the Air Force and get a great job. My brother who maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout high school, joined the Marines. Go figure.

I think he was in Vietnam according to his blog (Cptenaud please correct me if I"m wrong) so draft was a distinct possibility. I know it was for my cousin; they happily took all us white trailer trash to fight that war. I remember seeing my neighbor come back from that war all shot up to shit develop bipolar disorder. People like to pretend that the country wasn't divided but it really was.

A common misconception is that the Marine Corps is full of dummies. Modern American military doctrine is defined by many Marine officers who looked at upcoming conflicts and correctly predicted what would be needed to fight them, from "Little Wars" to the island campaign in the pacific and even vertical envelopment (use of helicopters in combat) and much more.

The average Marine may be trained as a "dog face killer" but that is not all the Corps is a bout.

What??? Just when I was about to join the booming "Skwirlinator for President" campaign? I can see it now: "A vote for Skwirl is a vote for my immediate removal!"

Thats something I could get behind, a Presidency with a clear removal date!
