What may be ironic are the numbers of people who are CEO of companies that rely on a good trading name, or are products that are popular or fashionable, who's reputation can be tarnished. I don't think most CEOs care about customers. They think their job is to eliminate competition. absorb rivals, acquire new technology. The plan is not to give customers what they want, but to give them no where else to go. A CEO is more secure if he has a captive audience.
