People often talk about "saving the planet". Well, the planet will most certainly be here. At the rate that humans are plundering the planet, the uncertainty is whether or not it will continue to be able to sustain human life.

So, perhaps we should be talking about "saving the human species"?

I like this way of spinning the problem. I think
if more people saw our current situation this way they would wake up and start
taking action to save our planet…. to preserve our limited resources for future
generations.
