pkronfield says:
American liberalism is heavily invested in this narrative of U.S. isolation. The Shiites have their annual ritual of 10 days of self-flagellation and penance, but this liberal narrative is ceaseless: The world once loved us, and all Parisians were Americans after 9/11, but thanks to President Bush we have squandered that sympathy....

Indeed, in the Arab world of the future, there will be streets and shrines dedicated to George W. Bush, their liberator. Future generations will admire this American president who, against all odds and resisted viciously by rabid liberals, courageously held the line and in the end, prevailed.

You, too, are as delusional as the Preznut. His failed policies have set us back 30 yrs at least on all fronts. I doubt that I could change the mind of a person so blind but can't just let that clip or comment go unchallenged. You're Nuts! Pop for insanity!

My step-daughter just returned from Europe where she was doing some college work. I ask her how she, as an American, was treated by the people she was around. She was very emphatic. She said they loved Americans and went out of their way to be helpful. That was encouraging to me considering all the bad *press* we keep seeing.

papananook and aklimento are suffering, like nearly half of our countrymen, from 8 years of political brainwashing by the liberal hate spewing truth-distorting media.

papanook, name me one "failed policy", and name one instance of being set back 30 years. And use facts not spin or hearsay.

And aklimento, President Bush has brought to justice (mostly death by hellfire) tens of thousands of animals who were dedicated to your (yes YOU) destruction.

Praise the Lord for President Bush!!!!!!!!!!!

pkronfield feeds the stereotype of the "Ugly American"

Fortunately the vast majority realize that he in no way represents America than a vulture represents a peacock.

True to form, when the liberal cannot engage in meaningful fact-based discourse, he resorts to slander, insults, and smears. Kind of like watching a woman cat fight - all screams, scratching and hair pulling. Actually, toad, I have lived overseas longer than in the U.S. I speak Arabic and Mandarin. I have been in Iraq before the Gulf War I, in Baghdad and Basra. Au Contrare, I think the real ugly American is more like the person who has never left the country, has a hard time locating France on a map, believes only what the liberal mainstream press wants him to believe, and is actually despised by most people in the world as being utterly stupid in the ways of the world and what really ...

A worldly man, what a shock! You have been cheated out of an academy award for acting like a obnoxious blowhard.

Damn, is there no justice?

Hehehe - you liberals slay me. If I'm so obnoxious, kindly save yourself the trauma and stop reading my posts. Take refuge in the distorted world of NBC news where everything you hear will be to your liking. Now get back to your knitting.

Socratoad, pkronfield does indeed represent a vast majority of Americans regarding success in Iraq and commitment to victory. Also, the evidence is clear as to the veracity of the clip. As to your phrase "ugly American", well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you behold as opinion on the Internet or sites like Clipmarks is not reality and, in fact, is actually quite ugly when viewed by every day "ugly americans".

pkronfield, are you for real? I've got your first comment as subtle irony. Sorry, I was profoundly wrong and now I'm deeply disappointed.

aklimento, I am very much for real. There is little subtle about me. Our greatest enemy in this war is not really the muslim radical monsters, but our own liberal marxists lurking in the shadows, who stab us in the back as we try to protect them. Deeply disappointed? History will judge you and your ilk as traitors and cowards who undermined a magnificent war President and made every attempt to sell out your own country in war time.

I almost died (literally) of laughter when I read this comment. America (and Bush) will be despised by the Muslim world for the next thousand years for what we've been doing to Iraq (like attempted colonization of Iraq and forced confiscation of...

I definitely agree with Soc. Pk is a religious extremist xenophobist. I simply cannot believe the ignorance that spews out of your mouth PK, you should think about shutting it so we don't have to get drenched in it.

Ugh, I'm sorry but it's no wonder that politicians are able to manipulate the masses so easily. People really need to stop being so biased and try to learn something instead of creating this imaginary fairy tale. Honestly.

Smear, smear, denigrate, insult. Read my response to papananook:

You keep hurling spin and talking points but are unable to conjure up any proven facts.

jmjoness, your last "ugh" comment quite adequately describes your malady. It is you who has been manipulated by politicians, and it is you who has ended up biased beyond belief, and it is you who is incapable of learning to perceive the truth through the lies spun by the liberal mainstream media.

jmjomes, I've explained my views on this before so I'm reluctant to go down this road in great detail on this clip. I am more of a classical liberal, Neo-Libertarian and I am no fan of GW Bush, but I do believe he will be given great stature in the future by most of the Middle East for the transformation that could take place with viable democracies in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Second, the changes in Europe to more pro-American administrations in practically every country is self-evident. What is to defend?
Third, pkronfield may be a racist and everything else you accuse him of being and more, b...

lol! With exception to the commentary shows, Fox News leans just as far Left, if not more, than the major networks ABC, NBC, and CBS.

Maybe if you'd stop being so obnoxious, and so ignorant as to the many faults of your beloved GW Bush, people wouldn't feel the need to insult you so. I feel you are a hypocrite, you have done the same thing yourself to Ultra left wingers.

"...name me one "failed policy", and name one instance of being set back 30 years. And use facts not spin or hearsay. .."
I can't name a failed policy, because for every policy of GW Bush's that I believe have failed, you would think they were glorious examples of his intelligence. You are blind and foolish, and it certainly is not my job to cure you of that. Y...

I do agree that we still have friends around the world, and the liberal news media would have us think otherwise, but honestly shrines in his honor? Their liberator??? That is just going to far, I'm sorry. America cannot be this arrogant, she will die a slow and painful death if she is.

And I will mention that even if GW Bush was a good President I would be saying this. It really has nothing to do with him personally.

OK, "shrines" is the wrong word. That has a religious connotation. I would go with the word "statues". Look how George H.W. Bush is admired by a grateful Kuwait after their liberation in Gulf War I. There are streets in Paris named after American presidents to whom the Parisians are eternally grateful. And a recent poll found that most Iraqis would prefer McCain as the next president, and Obama is highly unpopular there.
6-25-2008 3:26 PM
jmjoness
Ok I'll give you that I suppose. As for Obama, I would think so. He's turning out to be John Forbes Kerry the Second. I just wish there was a third party, I don't much care for either the Reps or the Dems anymore.
6-25-2008 5:53 PM
pkronfield
Further adding to the mystery of Obama, today I saw an aerial photo of Obama's Hyde Park mansion. I had to rub my eyes when I noticed directly across the street from his front porch is a huge mosque. I mean the shadow of the mineret could fall on his house. There is more to this bird than we know, and his name might offer us a clue. I still think he is a muslim sleeper. At least with McCain, we basically know what we will be getting for good or ill.
I wish we had a Teddy Roosevelt and a Bull Moose Party this year.

Ataxia (from Greek α- (used as a negative prefix) + -τάξις (order), meaning "lack of order")
6-25-2008 7:31 PM
jmjoness
What does bigot mean? I keep hearing everyone throw the word around, none of them seem to have any idea what it means. Anyway, I'm not distrustful of Obama because I think he's Muslim. I don't trust him because he's a jellyfish (like Kerry) and a liar. Plus he apparently thinks we should consult Winnie the Pooh for our foreign policy...

Hoooo! Hoooo! Jmjoness, that's a GREAT comment. What a hoot! Let me pop that!

Where's Teddy Roosevelt when we need him???!! For him, everything was "Bully!" Now everything seems mostly "Phooey"....

jmjoness
That made absolutely no sense.. Buttt whatever.
6-25-2008 8:27 PM
pkronfield
Aw jmjoness... don't you remember Teddy's Bully comments? It was a term we don't use anymore, but he used all the time. It means something like what the British would exclaim, "Good Show, Old Man". Kind of like a gutsy "Outstanding" with an energy and vivaciousness and audacity. If you shot a bear it was bully. If you conquered a tall difficult mountain, it was bully. If you sent your great white fleet around the world, or took San Juan Hill, it was bully.

Seems like with today's politicians it is Phooey. I think McCain was bully in Vietnam, but politics and a long stint in do nothing government office put him down in phooey territory.
6-25-2008 8:30 PM
jmjoness
Ah I see what you mean now. I never heard that term before. Learn something new every day
