I urge that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Oh the irony of it all.

Well, maybe they feel that President Obama is already fulfilling that promise by encouraging peace in the world (in some areas... the non-Afghanistan and non-Iraq areas). He has defused one developing threat to peace by cancelling Bush's ill-advised and imperialistic Missile Shield in Europe (leading to better relations with Russia and China), and he's taken a stand against the Apartheid policies of Israeli President Netanyehu. Those are positive steps toward peace.
