Atom sized bullets. The Military has tried to make a weapon that shoots magnetic projectiles, but so far no luck. They say the purpose of the coil gun is to try and weigh a neutrino, which are hard to catch. Apparently. Tritium, a Hydrogen isotope spits them out as they decay, but they are also hard to catch. Most Atoms are whizzing around, and holding them still isn't easy. They seem to have worked out how to do it. While the research can seem obscure sometimes there can be threads that lead the most unlikely places, some good some bad. It would be a shame if scientists ever stopped being surprised
