liotropi says: What kind of a doctor would dare do such experiments on babies? good headline! No one's actually experimenting on babies. All they are doing is trying to come up with something that might help cope with the obesity epidemic that is putting serious strain on the health system in the UK and I presume in America too. I appreciate the fact that there are perhaps other less drastic ways of dealing with obesity, however there is no harm with researching an area that might potentially help prevent morbid obesity. Hm, like maybe self-control When they are done with the rats, they will "experiment" on babies. Because no matter what results they get from the rats, you cannot predict the long-term consequences on humans. I don't believe that an informed parent would ever try this out on their child. Yes but the research conducted might lead to breakthroughs that might help change metabolism in adults who are morbidly fat. And as far as them eventually experimenting on babies, human trials are necessary on most products that might be used by humans. I am not saying experimenting on babies is ethical and I am sure the researchers will have to overcome and persuade numerous ethical commities/boards before human trials commense so experimenting on babies is highly unlikely. All I am saying is the current research project is not inherently bad and should not be labled so. |
