I still haven't been able to figure out why we need this software on the web? I mean, once google implements this into their gmail then all of these guys will be out of business, though even without Word's extra feature, Gmail serves the purpose of writing and keeping documents on the web. Just wondering. Gmail can't help in creating rich text and format documents with inserted images and tables and then convert them to PDF or to HTML or DOC, to just say one feature. Online software is the future, local (desktop) software is dead. Agree, online software is quite useful, especially when one is sure tha his/her files are safe and accessible from anywhere with internet connection. Ajaxwrite is neat, but I use writely--writely.com (can't say that it's better, haven't done any comparison yet). However writely allows file sharing and collaborative editing. Agree London - but remember Gmail now owns Writely, which is/was far superior to any other online Wordprocessor before Google bought it and now with Google behind it, who knows how much power it will weld. |
