"We can’t afford to keep being this stupid! We have got to get our groove back. We need a president who will unite us around a common purpose, not a common enemy. Al Qaeda is about 9/11. We are about 9/12, we are about the Fourth of July — which is why I hope that anyone who runs on the 9/11 platform gets trounced."

I can assure you of that with my vote. (And I never miss a vote.)

Time to throw fear out, and bring reason and understanding in.

Do you think, we as a nation, have the moral courage to do that Cptenaud?

Maybe only when our economy becomes so bad, that we can no longer shop. Our apathy is inexcusable.

How true, and ironic. Rudey (as in rude) is another empty headed politician doing his damnedest to ride the wave that Bushkie has created. In my heart of hearts I don't think the American public is going to take much more and the polls show this. And that in itself proves that apathy is on the decline. Great changes take a lot of time to pan out and our perserverance will pay off in the long run. Frustration? Yes. Surrender? NO.

I seriously fear another (so-called) terrorist attack to keep this pot stirred. The Bushites don't want to get past 9/11

Bush keeps on rabbiting on about Terrorism and 9/11. The Whole story smells more dirty than any other event in civilization's history. Qualified engineers have been asked about the odds of three buildings designed to withstand such attacks suffering perpendicular 'free fall' in one day, and they laugh. There was absolutely no investigation. They 'found' what they already 'knew', As much 'evidence' as possible was removed and DESTROYED for security reasons. They knew the culprit that night, on 'information' gathered by the same people as condemned Saddam Hussein.
The enemy is not 'terrorism.' There has been no more evidence of terrorism than there has ever been despite the ingenuity describe...

All blame cast aside. The intention of those behind 9/11 was to cripple the U.S. Their plan is working perfectly.
It will continue to work, until the people take back the power that belongs to them.

I agree, Al Qaeda's intent was to draw out the US
military to a battlefield where it could effectively engage
it on their own terms, as seen in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So far the US has been entirely predictable, though I think Iraq was a bonus they did not expect. The US government is being
outfoxed at every level. Only the American people can
change things for the better. Better for all of us!

Excellent discussion. Pity there was not more of this at the top levels. Watch out for the next instalment from Bush's organ grinders. He loves the idea of being a dictator and is so self righteous that he probably believes that that is what America needs.
