masbury says: It's still true, and it still shows the difference between them. Do Democrats really want a president who voted for war? I don't. I struggled with it for months. I was so excited about Hillary's campaign, she was the front-runner, my God! A woman president! I was ready. I still am. But ultimately I couldn't forgive her for her pro-war vote, or her war-baiting Iranian vote. I voted for Obama in my primary. Me, too. Maybe I would think differently if she had long ago admitted that she failed to do her homework. She still insists her position was the right one to take "given what I knew." But it was her job to know. Few Senators examined the intelligence that was made available to them. It was, of course, quite a lot different than Bush had suggested. But it was the responsibility of every Senator to know the evidence and prevent the invasion. The war was a Congressional failure, as surely as it was a Presidential one. That Hillary refuses to acknowledge her role in the needless deaths of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousand of Iraqis is inexcusable. |
