Damned democracy. Nothing against democracy. Just juvenilia in supposed adults. Do they really want to establish local arrest zones as a precedent? There are quite a few traitors we could list here. But we accept the fact that just because they hate America, hate Republicans, hate conservatism, and most of all hate themselves doesn't mean they should be arrested on sight. Just ridiculed and opposed. I'm not familiar with Brattleboro, Vermont, but my guess is that they do not hate America, Republicans, conservatism, or themselves but rather the Iraq War. these people are so far gone into hate that they think they can just sit around and declare they have the ability to arrest the President of the United States. They may not have gone so far as to believe they hate America (who can know based on something from the dead stream media?), but there are lots and lots of their fellow "progressives" who declare their hate for America. Who want America to lose the war, to lose power in the world, to lose economic functioning, who cheer at the thought of an American recession, who betray America's secrets in the hope it will help her enemies, who act in every way they can to betray America and its freedoms - and then declare that they are real Ameri... Being myself a progressive, and surrounded by progressives, I can assure you that none of us "hate America". Neither I nor my friends cheer the recession or betray any secrets, or "act in every way to betray America and its freedoms." I must confess I don't even know what you mean by this. Can you give me any example of a progressive who you know who has actively worked towards America's destruction? Disagreeing with the president of the United States or taking issue with foreign or domestic policy makes one neither a traitor nor a hater. "Can you give me any example of a progressive who you know who has actively worked towards America's destruction? " Sure. How about the New York Times publishing exposes on the methods the CIA was successfully using to track terrorists? Blew a whole (significant) investigation methodology out of the water. No I'm not talking about wiretaps, but a system we were using tracking financial movements. Back in World War II we were cracking our enemies secret encryption codes. Without that, we could not have won the war. If we had had today's NYT, they would have revealed that important info the instant they caught any whiff of it. Of course, back then the government would have had the spine to arrest them for treason. I asked about any progressive YOU know. And I wouldn't exactly call the NYT a "progressive" paper. It is mainstream media. The Democrat Party Progressive New York Times, is just mainstream? It used to present itself that way, but thankfully we can now get a lot more information out about the bias it has given to the news for far too long. Its stuff with pompous liberals who bash the Bush administration even in the sports pages. There is a firestorm at the stupid paper at the very thought of having a conservative columnist, and what they are mostly angry about (that word angry does seem to keep cropping up with progressives) is that they can't just decide what everybody should think any more. Not that they don't try to destroy and denigrate America: [url=http://www.nytim... I may just a lefty arguing semantics with a righty, but as a progressive, I assure you that neither the Democratic Party nor the New York Times is "progressive". Liberal, I'll give you. But not progressive. You may forget that the NYT and the Democrats supported the Iraq war, a decidely non-progressive position. The Vermont Town To Vote On Arresting Bush, Cheney. The petition - with more than 436 signatures, or at least the 5 percent of voters necessary to be considered - was submitted Thursday and the town Select Board voted 3-2 Friday to put it on the ballot.
