ColoradoRight says: Heaven knows what a similar survey of US teens would show. And they are on-line, even here at CM, pretending to know what fascism is, calling Bush a Nazi, and believing progressivism is pro-liberty. In defence of my countrymen in general, I can only repeat my comment made in response to other clips on this subject: The 3,000 UKTV viewers in the survey also probably don't read books without pictures or watch any film or TV programme in which the dialogue contains words of more than one syllable. They probably complain about the lack of actual news in their tabloid paper and about immigrants not speaking English whilst colonising towns and villages elsewhere yet steadfastly refusing to learn the local language; and probably don’t vote in any election because they can’t find their way to the polling station. Never underestimate the power of a good story.... |
