The real problem is that a precedent has been set so low that a future president will again abuse the constitution and bill of rights to do as they please. This is particularly so when not even the smallest attempt is made to impeach Bush, making it next to impossible to impeach a subsequent president who would point to Bush for their authority.

I recall a quote from Oliver Stone's movie 'Nixon' :

Nixon shuffles back alone, coming to a stop in front of a larger-than-life, full-length oil portrait of JOHN F. KENNEDY. Nixon studies the portrait, pads closer. Looks up.
