It's just sick. I can't believe it's Paris Hilton this, Paris Hilton that and this stuff goes relatively unnoticed. Thanks for bringing it to our attention LPedante.

Deprived of so much, wasn't he entitled to something that made him feel a little better and eased the distress of his circumstance?. What a ruthless thing to do to this man. The judge ought to be charged with manslaughter.

Sickening is absolutely right. This story encapsulates several things wrong with the system; marijuana legislation, the judge's sentence, the prison's health care...I read elsewhere that the judge opted for jail time instead of probabtion because the man indicated that he was likely to use marijuana again to ease his pain.
Do you think Paris Hilton's "medical condition" is more severe than quadra pelegia?

I saw this on ABC news last night. His mother was so distraught! Broke my heart! What an outrage! At least the situation is getting attention.

Someone needs to show that story to Paris! Let her think about that while she spends the next 6 weeks by herself.

The REAL Napster
I hope that smacktard judge sleeps well tonight...NOT!
There are FAR too many people being jailed for minor marjiuana 'offenses'. Meanwhile the killers, rapists and thieves get out early or don't goto jail at all.

No wonder I always tell my kids to question authority...many of those in authority are questionable themselves!

Truly a horrid story. ObFrownie:

I don't even begin to understand the anti medical marijuana position. Oh, I've heard it. Several times.

For that matter, it shouldn't be illegal under any circumstances.
"In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume ... Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."
-- DEA Administrative Law Judge, Francis L. Young 1988
