What a specious argument! It's also true that it requires large amounts of fossil fuels to mine and refine fossil fuels, to build coal- or oil-fired power plants and associated buildings, and to service the plant while in operation. So, I guess we shouldn't build those either? All forms of energy production/storage/usage have their own pros and cons. It's quite ironic to detract from nuclear power because, in this fossil-fuel centric world we live in, a diesel truck carries the uranium to the plant. |
