egoldstein says: Tom Friedman is so right (shocker) about this. I find it to be insane that this is not THE ISSUE of the presidential election. T. Boone Pickens gets it. Tom Friedman gets it. Europe and Asia seem to get it. When will Washington get it??? I agree that ET may be the next wave to ride, GDP wise, but that it will be driven by an unproven thesis, I don't agree with. Shoddy science is not a sound foudation upon which to build an industry. The industry will flourish on humanity's desire to preserve the environment not program it to some unknown model. T. Boone Pickens gets it.T. Boone is a capitalist through and through, make no mistake about it. Read the recent Business Week article detailing his buyings of all the ground water he can, essentially controlling limited resources. They call it the 'new oil' Imagine that. It's all about control of ANY resource, regardless of whether it's 'green' or not. I agree Napster, but it's still green if you think about it, mo' money, mo' money...get it? Who cares if Global climate disruption is "real" or not? If it cleans up the environment (needed for decades) and gets us off the addiction to oil--what so bad about it? Of course profiteers are oing to capitalize--that's 'Merika's way of doing things--gotta make money on it or no go. "Greening" is going to happen so get on with it! I find it to be insane that this is not THE ISSUE of the presidentialwhen we all take it upon ourselves to make it a burning issue namely switching to clean energy sources the usa has massive fossil fuel usage ,comparitively speaking, weaning off takes time meanwhile theres plenty of online resources to help for example on this : http://browser.flock.com/eco/ & http://www.worldchanging.com/ |
