If the US and it's allies just leave Iraq the country will probably further disintigrate. The Iraqi security forces are neither competent to carry out the task of maintaning security in Iraq, nor do they, judging by various articles I have read, have the trust of the normal Iraqi. The US forces themselves have hardly been succesful in maintaining security in Iraq. Therefore why on earth - given the inadequacies of the Iraqi govt/security forces - would security, sanitation or even the basic living standard in Iraq magically improve if the US leaves. Don't get me wrong I am in no way belittling the situation people, both Iraqis and US soldiers, are facing there but simply packingup and lea...

Therefore why on earth - given the inadequacies of the Iraqi govt/security forces - would security, sanitation or even the basic living standard in Iraq magically improve if the US leaves. Don't get me wrong I am in no way belittling the situation people, both Iraqis and US soldiers, are facing there but simply packingup and leaving is NOT going to solve the problem. Thing is the war should have never taken place in the first place. And before someone accuses me, I am not a Pro Bush/Republican.

I think we sometimes have to ask ourselves, if we are doing more harm than good in Iraq. The Iraqi PM seems to think it may be best, if the US leave.

Will Iraq disintegrate? (Hasn't it already?) Who knows, but if al-Malaki thinks they can handle things, then they should be allowed to. Even if they can't, it is after all THEIR country, it should be their choice. It seems the US in particular has far outstayed it's welcome regarding bringing "freedom" to the Iraqi people. Too many innocent civilian...

Even if they can't, it is after all THEIR country, it should be their choice. It seems the US in particular has far outstayed it's welcome regarding bringing "freedom" to the Iraqi people. Too many innocent civilians are taking the fall. The US needs to withdraw from the situation. Let UN or international forces or the Iraqis themselves take over. I think the very presence of US forces in Iraq, is more like a red cloth being waved at a bull, than anything else. It's only spawning new terrorists and getting us no closer to our goal of a safer world. The war needs to end.
