Perhaps one of the reasons so many people on antidepressants, commit suicide. What does that say about cloning research. The public are obviously seen as nothing more as a market.
What do you do if someone is depressed? Stun them with pharmaceuticals, and hope they don't wake up, or are too disoriented to argue. Of course you can always expect doctors to do what is right according to the information that is provided to them.

I don't know much Pokkets, but one thing I do know is that my anti-depression medication IS what stands between me and suicide. For me, 'sanity' comes in tablet form. Perhaps that's too much personal information to share, I don't know. But I do know it has been my life-line since childhood.

I've had major depression twice and still, twice, I was minutes (seconds) away from suicide. Someone saved me, not something. (And that was sheer luck.) Both times I had been on anti-depressants, to no avail. I took the meds as my last resort (I do NOT take pharmaceuticals lightly) it only made me despair even more, that it wasn't helping.

I hope and pray anti-depressants are a solution for some, like you Michellezm, thank heavens! If it even it only helps one percent, that is one still percent saved. Teetering on the edge is so terrible and frightening, I hope I never ever ever ever get a bad depression again. Maybe a third time I won't be so lucky.

I know there are some good proven medicines prescribed, but they keep on insisting that they've found new solutions. Often they are not better they are just different, and often worse. I'm sure there medicines should be used on a case by case basis, by a doctor who is aware of the effects. I have been prescribed a range of medications for conditions both real, misdiagnosed, or imagined, so I know there can be a great range. Some of the drugs with the worst effects have been prescribed by doctors with too little information. On the bright side, my experience with medications who's value has been questionable, has allowed me to see that the medications I am on now are doing what they should. T...

It's fine to try and cure depression. We need to learn how to stop it developing in the first place. They are just trying to sell to a mass market when everyone has their own chemistry. One man's meat, is another man's poison.
I agree. I've not yet used anti-depressants, but have probably needed them at times. In addition to my normal cocktail of 30 or so tablets a day, I'm also currently on strong pain killers.

Why is it the FIRST inclination of doctors to pop you with chemicals as the remedy. If they worked then US drug companies would put themselves out of business. So, that's never going to happen, ever. Whatever solution these druggies might have, the best they'll peddle...

The drug companies have major control over legislation, that is wrong.

Different and better solutions would develop if not controlled by others.

Pills for a spiritual malady is temporary and insufficient.

I spent most of my life depressed but not the last ten years. A spiritual solution is what works best, or so it seems.
