Engines are designed to shear off (Thanx Seconds From Disaster)

I think I would be more concerned where that big hot metal engine landed.

There was an episode where the shearpins failed and it ended up taking out both engines on one side. Then the plane took out an apt complex - pretty bad crash.
They found a problem with the shear pins and ordered all the pins on that type of application checked and replaced. Perhaps they missed one or the failure is reoccurring. If it is reoccurring there will be more sheared off engines.
