June 6th 1944 - Sixty eight years ago today


Allied land forces that saw combat in Normandy on D-Day itself came from Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Substantial Free French and Polish forces also participated in the battle after the assault phase, and there were also contingents from Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Greece, the Netherlands, and Norway.[6] Other Allied nations participated in the naval and air forces. - sixty eight years ago today.

Hey good clip , but i'm going to have to be a bit picky (sorry) but it's only 64yrs. I know i'm old but you have just aged me by 3yrs. Whoops!!!!

My Uncle Dan was there from the USA. He died about ten years ago without really discussing his experiences in battle very much, although he was proud to have served our country and grateful to have survived the war. He did tell me that he turned 21 in a foxhole in France. It's hard to comprehend what he and all the other soldiers went through on D-Day and thereafter.
