My very first computer was a 386 25mhz Gateway. That's not the first computer I worked on but the first I could call my own. Anyway, I was an incredibly loyal customer for almost 10 years but eventually dell won me over with the higher quality pc's.

My question is, will this affect Gateways quality?

I worked at Gateway during it's extreme growth years (1997-'00). They'll never part with the logo and brand. They have millions invested in it and it's part of what they're known for. It'd be like Ford doing away with the Thunderbird. Oh wait, Ford DID do away with that car. I guess anything is possible.
