Well, it's not as odd as why they have braille entry pads at a drive up ATM.

The first I ever knew of this was from the movie Sneakers (Robert Redford, Dan Akroyd, River Phoenix, et el). The one character in the movie, Whistler, who is a blind hacker is shown reading the braille issue of Playboy while they are doing a surviellence gig. It is about 3/4 of the way trhough the movie I think when they trying to get back "the Box".
