papananook says: Dammit, why are they still using those things? Shades of '00, '04. Me...i no likey! Diebold makes butterfly ballots? Funny how they say exit polls are never wrong then go on to list a number of times they have been wrong. I can think of a number of times even back into the 90s when polls were way off as well. The whole process is wacky...who do you trust? The vote counters? Not after the '00 and '04 Bush thefts. The networks? Not with their corporate agendas!...it's all crazy! Who do you trust, ACORN? Those who think showing an ID to vote is a bad thing? Those who keep finding ballots and demanding recounts until their candidate wins? No, too-soon, I think voters should have to show ID...I just wonder if the votes are being counted and not hacked by some criminal like in Ohio, who ran the voting commission. Remember paper ballots? One person, one vote? These E-voting machines are too easy to hack. Or are you glad that Dubya stole two elections? You keep saying that yet there has never been any proof to back it up. You sound a whole lot like Ron Paul. In order to get proof, you have to start the investigation immediately, before a coverup can be implemented, which both Gore and Kerry refused to do...Or King St. George Dumbfuck would never had been Preznut. Ron Paul, huh? Far out, man! He's a very interesting guy, with some principles I admire...although I think some of his economic theories are a bit radical for this wonderful Capitalistic system that is so fair to everybody....are ya following me, there, Too-Soon? Too far left for your taste? You don't know the half of it how far left I am. I'm lefty-er than Che Guevara, man. But all that aside, I do NOT trust the current election process one bit. The corporate powers-that-be have too... Anybody watchin' out there...jump in any time. Let's get it on. Al Gore NEVER lead in Florida. There were multiple recounts including the selective recounts he requested. He went to the courts to try and have Florida election laws bypassed and he did have the deadline extended. He even tried to have military ballots thrown out while trying to convince everyone he wanted every vote counted. The recounts went as long as they could, Gore never did pass Bush, and he failed at stealing an election. And let's not forget that it was the democrats in charge who designed those ballots. As for Michigan, nothing but conspiracy theories. It was the left, after deciding that their voters were too dumb to use a butterfly ballot anymore who demanded those electronic v... OK, OK, ...I don't agree with you about your "facts" about '00-'04, but let's get back to the present. Check this out and try an open mind, please... http://www.opednews.com/maxwrite/showtags.php?tid=4547 I have never liked the idea of voting machines that didn't have a paper trail. But remember, it was the liberals who claim Bush stole the election in 2000 that demanded these new machines be put into place. Well, they got their wish. I like the voting we have here. We get a large card and just complete the arrows next to our vote with a magic marker. Then we insert the ballots into a machine that counts them and spits them back out in case of an over vote (but not an under vote). You have machine counting with a paper trail. The ink used is smudge proof making the ballots tamper resistant, and there are no chads. That said, once again there is no proof of any vote tampering. And if there i... Well, I'm not a Dimocrat, nor a Rethuglican...so there you are... Whoever is pushing the Diebold machines, is pushing dangerous stuff. But I like that system you have in your state, not that it really matters much, if the voters are not really looking deeply into issues rather than image...but that's a whole 'nother subject. Thanks for the mini-debate, n2, seriously. Update on information about New Hampshire elections. The Diebold machines are not touch screen machines they are optical scanners. Oklahoma uses optical scanners. Optical scanners are not tamper proof. A computer chip has to count the vote. Considering the above information, read the following: What has had eyebrows raised is a significant discrepancy between the vote counts done by voting machine, and the ones done by hand.
Having said all this, republican governor Crist of Florida should be given credit for getting rid of touch screen voting and making sure that every precinct statewide uses the same equipment Papananook, check out this article. It has some very good things to consider. It seems illogical that Obama would have faired better in the rural part of the states and not the cities. More Questions About Diebold Voting Machines Did Hillary Really Win New Hampshire? THANK YOU, Bobby R, I knew I was missing something about that Florida deal but my memory is suspect these days...raging CRS, i think...or incipient Alzheimers...*Do I know you? My ?Son's name isn't Bobby, tho....* heh-heh... Westech writes "Multiple indications of vote fraud are beginning to pop up regarding the New Hampshire primary elections. Roughly 80% of New Hampshire precincts use Diebold machines, while the remaining 20% are hand counted. A Black Box Voting contributor has compiled a chart of results from hand counted precincts vs. results from machine counted precincts. In machine counted precincts, Clinton beat Obama by almost 5%. In hand counted precincts, Obama beat Clinton by over 4%, which closely matches the scientific polls that were conducted leading up to the election. Another issue is the Republican results from Sutton precinct. The final results showed Ron Paul with 0 votes in Sutton. The nex... |
