Al Gore NEVER lead in Florida. There were multiple recounts including the selective recounts he requested. He went to the courts to try and have Florida election laws bypassed and he did have the deadline extended. He even tried to have military ballots thrown out while trying to convince everyone he wanted every vote counted. The recounts went as long as they could, Gore never did pass Bush, and he failed at stealing an election. And let's not forget that it was the democrats in charge who designed those ballots.

We get a large card and just complete the arrows next to our vote with a magic marker. Then we insert the ballots into a machine that counts them and spits them back out in case of an over vote (but not an under vote). You have machine counting with a paper trail. The ink used is smudge proof making the ballots tamper resistant, and there are no chads.

In New Hampshire, 81 per cent of the voting was done in towns and cities that had purchased optical scan machines from the Diebold Election Systems (now called Premiere Election Solutions), a division of Diebold Corp., a company founded by and still linked to wealthy right-wing investors. In those towns, all voting was done on the devices, called Accuvote machines, which read paper ballots completed by voters who use pens or pencils to fill in little ovals next to the candidate of their choice. The ballots are then fed into, read, and tallied by the machines. The other 19 per cent of voting was done in towns that had opted not to use the machine, and to use hand-counted paper ballots instead.

The machine tally was Clinton 39.6 per cent, Obama 36.3 per cent - fairly close to the final outcome. But the hand-counted ballot count broke significantly differently: Clinton 34.9 per cent, Obama 38.6 per cent.

It would also be nice for n2sooners to provide some examples of these way off inaccurate polls that were made going back to the 90's instead of making an unverifiable statement.

The republican dirty tricks in Florida 2000 were voter roll purges and voter intimidation. Additionally, democratic precincts in Florida had inferior voting equipment compared to republican precincts. Many more ballots were thrown out or uncounted in democratic precincts. Diebold touch screens were used in some areas of Florida in 2000 and I don't think anyone here believes they were tamper proof or fault proof.
