Harry Turtledove is acknowledged, and rightly so, as the Stephen King or Isaac Asimov of Alternate History Fiction.
The premise of multiple alternate Earths is not new and even Quantum Theory seems to support the {i]possibility that they MAY exist.[/i], and no one writes them like Turtledove.
