I'd say that what's really irresponsible is leaving the country in such a bad place that there are aren't any good options left.

Whoever told Bush to make that statement is a lot smarter than he. Whoever disagrees with this statement is just looking for disagreement in every comment. But the smartness curve should be increased by the idea we are in a bad place and there are zero good options...that's just lazy rhetoric.

Not saying that there are no options. Saying that there are no good options...more like "less bad" options. If there were some very good ideas, I think we might have actually heard one by now. Even Bush didn't position his new plan in a very positive light...if i remember correctly, his words were that it would "bring us closer to success".
