Exactly. The sad fact is that many theists can't comprehend how someone who doesn't hold a belief in their deity can be a moral person. Presenting facts of below representation of incarcerated atheists means little to people who live in a world based on the supernatural.

Perhaps not the whole reason. I suspect there are other motivations driving this. But given the extreme form of religion that exists in Saudi Arabia it gives one pause for thought what the underlying purpose is.

It's interesting contrasting the two clips. The one you clipped from Middle East Online frames the meeting as an offer of reconciliation and understanding. The clip I offered dealing with the same proposed meeting, from Secularism.org, presents a much different take. Or does it? I'm reminded of the old saying: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend", or something to that effect. Regardless, Abdullah's comments still show a remarkable degree of bigotry and prejudice.
